Fall is the perfect time to curl up with a good book and a hot drink – a crisp wind is outside rustling the leaves, but you’re warm and cozy on the couch. When I had the good fortune of winning an ARC copy of Sarah Perry’s Melmoth via a Goodreads giveaway in August, I was really excited to pick up this modern Gothic novel by an author who’s debut novel The Essex Serpent was received with critical acclaim.

2017 DNFs: The Ok, The Bad & The Ugly
While this blog is mostly about books I’ve read to completion, sometimes you just need a nice DNF list. I don’t really have a rule of thumb about when and why I DNF a book, but it occasionally happens. Life is truly too short, y’all, and my TBR list is too long.
Review: Run for Something by Amanda Litman
So, if you know anything about me, you know that I’m a political junkie (and if you don’t know much about me, head over here). I can be perfectly content watching CSPAN and refreshing my Twitter feed than doing most other things. I also get excited about books (fiction & nonfiction alike) dealing with one of the issues I’m most passionate about – getting more women, young people, and progressives in office. In fact, I’m really hopeful about 2018.
